Through the integration on press of Heidelberg’s unique ‘InPress Control’ every sheet is scanned for colour and automatically adjusted whilst ‘on the run’. This means that we can guarantee all sheets, first to last have the same density and colour balance.
We run high resolution proofs and check against the printed result before setting the parameters for ‘InPress Control’. Once set, the press will run consistent colour throughout the run.
Our Heidelberg XL75 B2 press has 5 printing units and therefore we can use the 5th unit for a ‘special’ Pantone colour or Metallic Pantone ink of your choice. We stock an extensive range of Pantone inks in-house.
The final unit on the press is an Anilox Aqueous Coating Unit. The result is a choice of cosmetic finishes, including:
When a coating is applied, the sheet is instantly dry on completion – this allows us to immediately fold and cut the job without a delay for drying. We therefore use a coating as standard on all our silk stocks, which is historically difficult stock to dry.
The XL75 can handle a wide range of stocks from as low as 60g, up to 600g and is the most versatile press on the market for this reason. All of these stocks will run at high speeds so there is no compromise on turnaround and we can be more competitive on price against standard B2 presses.
All our CMYK inks are vegetable based and therefore environmentally friendly. The Heidelberg ink line system allows for a minimum handling of inks and automatically refills the ink ducts through a series of sensors, which also means no ink waste. All print cartridges are disposed of responsibly.
